Victorian Era historic color "crewel tan" sw0011
Sherwin Williams has a collection of Late Victorian Historic Interior colors (see the color swatch below). I really like their crewel tan color (SW 0011) and used it as the base for my design this week. Did you know that during Queen Victoria's reign it wasn't considered proper etiquette among the upper class to overtly flirt? They often used flowers to communicate one's intentions or feelings toward another, and in 1879 "Le Language des Fleurs", a dictionary of flower meanings, was published in Paris by Miss Carruthers of Inverness! ...Fascinating!
