canvas frame...1.5 inches thick.
Also available with a plain aqua background. I recently refinished some kitchen furniture with chalk paint in soft earthy colors. I was in need of an art piece for one wall and decided to scan one of my watercolor paintings. These chickens add a pop of color and life to the space. Now, I happen to have dozens of canvases sitting around the house...some with paintings and others waiting to be painted. It would have been easiest to wrap the fabric over a white canvas. For this project, I tore off an old painting that I didn't care for how it was progressing. Then I ordered a linen panel and stapled it onto the frame. There are all kinds of instructions online for how to properly staple the fabric...it's very easy. (It should be noted that the linen cotton fabric is not as thick as the original canvas...nor is it stiff. So...I first wrapped the frame with some inexpensive white cotton...just to make sure I could not see my wallpaper through the painting. If you have white walls, you can probably skip that.) Before stapling to the frame, I hand painted some words using fabric paints. That is totally optional. I even had a thought to add some embroidery...making it even more mixed media...but I really wanted to get it on the wall. :-) My frame already had hangers...so that was it! If I get tired of it, I can recover it in something else. I hope this inspires you to go pickup a canvas and wrap it with some unique fabric! Thanks for viewing!
