27 x 18 inches Panel IMPORTANT: Get it on a fabric that is 54 inches wide - like "Cotton Lawn" or "Organic Cotton Sateen." - in order to have four complete panels. I (Nancy) painted and sold the 40x20 inches oil art during 2000, created it from my own photographs and sketches. The art has rich red and burgundy in the drape of Jesus Christ, with a pasture of multicolored muted grasses and flowers. Framed prints are at Pixels: nancylee-moran.pixels.com/art/jesus+christ Here Jesus is just beginning his ministry. The drape color previews his loving sacrifice of Himself for us. I hoped, while painting, to show the Jewish Hebrew origins of Jesus, with olive skin and darker hair. I respect the many other ways that Jesus has been painted through the ages. The hymn "Hosea" written by Weston Priory, often sung in my church, inspired me. Some lyrics are: "Come back to me with all your heart. Don't let fear keep us apart. Long have I waited for your coming home to me and living deeply our new life." I hope this image, offered from my heart with humility, expresses His endless compassion and love. Since the art was conceived to use for a counseling center, I had hoped to show Jesus welcoming people to draw closer to Him, to receive comfort and hope in the face of great difficulties. I especially wanted children coming into the center to feel welcomed and safe. His hands are held at the meeting place of sky (heaven) and earth. His hands are strong, a carpenter's hands. The cloud has a natural halo effect. See Collection number 229354 for more fabric panels.
