is something eerie, yet fun about it.
Howard Thurston, the Magician Who Disappeared... I used an early 1900's magic poster image of Howard Thurston as an inspiration for this yardage. He performed for royalty, celebrities and presidents. By 1925, a typical Thurston show included elements of the circus, dancing girls, and included acts he called, Nine People Cabinet, Pigeon Pie, Bangkok Bungalow, Egg Trick, Glass Trick, Prisoner of Canton, Phantom Piano, Lady and Boy, Triple Mystery. Children flocked to Thurston's shows. He performed annual shows for orphanages. “They're all children, these patrons of mine,” Thurston said once. “I am proud of my calling as an entertainer—a dealer in magic art that involves the practice of deception without causing harm.” Read more about this amazing fellow here.... https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/howard-thurston-magician-who-disappeared-180969952/
