The Jelling Critter - who does not need a few hundred of these!

The Jelling Style is a phase of Scandinavian animal art during the 10th century. The Jelling Cup This style got its name from a small cup that displays two overlapping S-shaped ribbon animals, found in the burial chamber of the North Mound of the Jelling monument site, and it is believed to have been part of the grave goods that accompanied Gorm the Great after his death. With the Jelling style begins a return of the ribbon animal eventually banishing the “gripping” beasties. I am quite captured by the return this style has to early Germanic and Broa styles. However, it becomes an enduring establishing of ribbon traditional animals in fashion right up to the end of the Viking Age. More info (but pretty skinny, for the subject), https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viking_art#Jellinge_Style
