Designed to be printed on the linen-cotton canvas, a fat quarter fits two placemats, and a yard gives you eight. Sandwich the cut out placemat with a backing fabric of your choice (right sides together) and then add a layer of batting or fleece. Sew around the edges leaving a spot for turning right side out. Turn, iron flat. You can then tuck the area that you left open to turn in and pin in place. Use black thread and your machine to stitch around the entire edge of the placemat, this will catch the opening and sew it shut.
