About the Design

Graceful and refined, it is hand-painted in oil © Nancy Lee Moran. An elegant design!

See the whole fabric collection at this Spoonflower Collection Link (https://www.spoonflower.com/collections/164304-daisies-roses-tulips-bluebird-by-nancy_lee_moran_designs) Matching prints, notecards, pillows and more items are available on Fine Art America. Art Link on Fine Art America (https://fineartamerica.com/featured/daisies-roses-and-tulips-nancy-lee-moran.html) For the central motif of this design, Nancy Lee used Photoshop to lift roses and daisies from her oil painting, "Colordance of Summer." You can see "Colordance of Summer" as a print on Fine Art America. Colordance Link on Fine Art America (https://fineartamerica.com/featured/colordance-of-summer-nancy-lee-moran.html) On Photoshop, Nancy Lee changed the orientation and colors of the flowers to create decorative art suited to the amethyst-lavender background. Color inspiration for the top rose came from the Blue Bayou rose (a shade of pink). The bottom rose was inspired by colors of a rose named Distant Drums. Distant Drums has ruffled petals that are bronze-brown in the center shading to lavender toward the edges. The Tulips Border The flowers that I used as references for the border were part of a bouquet from my daughter Emily Rose. While painting in oil, I appreciated the creamy white of the tulip as it compared with the snow white of the daisy. The cornflowers are a color often called Dutch blue and cornflower blue. While I painted the border with a quiet-gray background, my son Gregg helped me use Photoshop to offer other background choices: Dutch blue, eggplant, lavender, gray, and peach. See it with other colors in the background on my blog page. (https://nancyleemoran.com/blog/?p=442) Designs by Nancy Lee Moran are available for licensing. Some designs are also available in other scales or colors on request. Nancy’s Note: I hope you will show me the projects you create with my fabrics. It would be joy to see them.
