About the Design

A friendly squirrel snacks on a cranberry-popcorn garland in this cheerful design for quilt panels

and pillows.

Panel size is 18 x 18 inches. IMPORTANT: Get it on a fabric that is 54 inches wide, like "Cotton Lawn" or "Organic Cotton Sateen" to have SIX panels per yard. The wallpaper repeat is about 12 x 12 inches, half-drop pattern. If you sew and design quilts, Create an artistic hexified panel quilt with this fabric. Create a One Block Wonder and OBW variations quilt. One yard (plus one fat quarter) of Kona Cotton Ultra gives you seven panels. See my blog post with eleven pictures and clear directions for a hexified panel quilt! nancyleemoran.com/blog/?p=1100 Created from an oil painting, this snow design © Nancy Lee Moran has colors of green, rose-red, and gold. Gold-star ornaments decorate a snowy blue-spruce tree. Nature and wildlife lovers would enjoy gifts sewn from it. The fabric would be pretty in a mountain cabin and hotel, also in a ski lodge. Notes from the artist: Following a fresh snow in December 2013, I sewed garlands and draped them on a small spruce tree, for painting inspiration. My mother taught her children to string popcorn and cranberries at Christmas holidays. A long, fine needle works best to make garlands, so as not to crack the popcorn. Squirrels and birds enjoy these edible garlands. The ornament is in my own collection at home, but is silver in color. See Collection number 229354 for more fabric panels.
