Pietra Dura, also called Parchinkari on the Indian subcontinent, is an inlay technique using highly polished and perfectly cut stones to create images. It is painstaking and expensive work, hence why it adorns only the fanciest buildings in the world from Florence, Italy to Agra, India (home of the Taj Mahal, where this artwork reached its zenith). This print is inspired by the Taj Mahal, but because of the Pietra Dura's range, it would look good anywhere that needs a Mediterranean, Turkish, Persian, or Indian classical touch.
